If you're like most people in the nonprofit world, you've been hearing "fractional" everywhere lately.

Someone mentions their "fractional CFO" in a board meeting.

A colleague talks about going "fractional" like it's the promised land of consulting.

Your LinkedIn feed is full of people with "fractional" in their titles (fractional fundraisers, fractional CMO, fractional CFO, fractional COO) but nobody's actually explaining what the hell it means or why it matters.

Meanwhile, you're either struggling to find the right expertise for your organization without hiring full-time, or you're wondering if this fractional thing could be the consulting model that finally makes sense for your career.

You're ready to finally understand what fractional is (and isn't) in the nonprofit world.

  • What fractional actually means

(beyond the buzzword everyone's using incorrectly)
We'll cut through the confusion and define fractional work properly - not the watered-down version floating around LinkedIn, but what it really looks like in practice for nonprofits and for consultants.

  • How fractional differs from consulting, freelancing, and contract work

These aren't just different words for the same thing. The distinctions impact everything. For organizations trying to find the right fit for the work they need done and for consultants who need to know how to structure their contracts and manage their work.

  • Why nonprofits are turning to fractionals

From finance to marketing to fundraising to operations (and everything in between), organizations are discovering fractional work solves problems that traditional hiring and consulting can't touch.

  • How to evaluate if fractional makes sense for your specific situation

Not every organization should hire fractionals, and not every consultant should go fractional. We'll give you the framework to decide what's right for you.

Even if you've never worked with a fractional or considered becoming one, this training will demystify the model that's changing how nonprofit expertise gets delivered.
